Before You Book a Visit
Some faults have simple causes and it is worth ruling those out first.
Check that the system has power and that nothing is blocking the safety photocells (typically vegetation). Make sure none of your access control devices are triggering the gate open, and check that a hold open function hasn’t been switched on without anyone realising.
If none of that sorts it, call us. There are a few more things we can often work through with you over the phone before arranging a visit. If we can save you a call out, we will.
We Repair Other Companies’ Systems Too
A large part of what we do is troubleshooting and repairing gate systems that somebody else installed. We work on most major gate automation manufacturers, not just the equipment we fit ourselves.
That includes older systems where the original installer is long gone and parts are getting harder to find. We will diagnose the fault and tell you straight whether it is worth repairing or whether you are better off replacing.
Most Repairs Done on the First Visit
Our service vehicles carry most common FAAC replacement parts, along with a selection of components for other manufacturers. That means a lot of faults get diagnosed and fixed on the same visit rather than turning into a two trip job.
When we don’t have the part on board, we work with local suppliers to keep the wait as short as possible.
How Quickly We Can Get to You
We respond to enquiries the same day or the next, and can usually schedule a visit within the week.
We know how disruptive a gate failure is when it is the only way in and out of a home or business. If we can help you troubleshoot something simple over the phone, we will. If it needs somebody on site, we will get out as soon as the schedule allows.
Jobs on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard can take a little longer to arrange, since they depend on ferry availability.
Repair Questions
-
Yes, and much of our work is exactly that. We work with most major manufacturers and can assess older systems where parts are difficult to source.
-
Not necessarily replace. Older doesn’t automatically mean bad, and some older hydraulic systems are extremely well built and worth repairing. We diagnose the problem first, then tell you whether repairing makes sense or whether you have reached the point where replacement is better value.

There is a set rate for service calls within a couple of hours of central Connecticut. For properties further out, additional travel charges may apply, and we will always agree with you before we set off. For full installations we are happy to travel wherever the job is.
