Automatic Gate Installation
Every entrance is different. We design the automation around your gates and how you actually use them, not around a standard package.
We Look Before We Quote
Whether you are automating a set of gates for the first time or replacing a system that has given up, the first step is the same. We come out and look at what you have.
Gate weight, hinge condition, how the gates hang, gate material, how much traffic goes through and what you need to control access all change what makes sense. Two entrances that look similar from the road often need very different systems.
That visit is also when we tell you honestly whether your existing gates are ready for automation, or whether something should be sorted first. Gates need to be in good condition and swing freely before you add a motor to them.
Swing Gate Automation
For swing gates we primarily install FAAC hydraulic operators. FAAC has been one of the leading names in gate automation for decades, and a hydraulic operator that has been installed properly and serviced regularly will often run for 15 to 20 years.
Hydraulic systems handle heavy gates and frequent use better than most alternatives, which matters on an entrance that gets opened several times a day, every day, through a New England winter.
Sliding Gates, Barriers and Access Control
We supply and install a full range of equipment beyond swing gate operators.
Sliding gate operators
Barrier arms for commercial and community entrances
Keypads
Telephone and video entry systems
Vehicle detection loops
Remote controls and additional access control equipment
We are an authorized dealer for ACGA on Long Island, and Power Door Products in Connecticut, which means we can source the right equipment for the job rather than fitting whatever we happen to stock.

Installation Questions
-
Usually, yes. The main thing is that the gates themselves are in good condition and move freely before automation is added. We check the gates and hinges during the site visit and tell you whether they are ready or whether some work should be done first.
-
In most cases, yes. Existing systems can often be upgraded with keypads, telephone or video entry, remote access, extra safety devices and vehicle detection without replacing the operators. If running a cable to the device isn’t practical, most access control equipment now comes in a wireless version.
-
A properly installed gate should have safety equipment suited to the entrance and how it gets used. Depending on the system that can include photocells, monitored safety edges and obstruction detection. If you have an older system, we can inspect what is fitted and tell you where it should be improved.
